Anybody may take any kind of job just to get by at some time. There is nothing wrong with any kind of honest work that puts food on your family’s table.

Sadly, many of America’s big job center cities don’t have enough jobs for everyone to do what the used to do or would like to do. So, one may have to get creative, flexible and busy in order to adapt.

A lack of good employment prospects may are often made worse for any given individual by a lack of the right marketable skills. I’m talking about the kind of skills for which there are jobs. Generally speaking, the more trained a person is in a specific area with some level of employer demand, the more likely one is to have a successful career and any kind of job. That would be true for job center cities and out in suburban and rural America as well.

So, where do you start? Well, it’s not a bad idea to think about what jobs there may be more demand for. In my personal opinion, here are some areas for which there may be greater demand going forward:

- Healthcare – As the U.S. gets older, so its need for healthcare grows larger.

- Business – A degree in business can be applied to so many things.

- Criminal Justice – There’s no criminal deficit and millions of workers get paid to deal with that problem.

- Sales – If you can sell stuff, you have skills that relate to many types of businesses.
